So after the 10th chapter in the Star Trek Franchise, Nemesis, it seemed that the films had finished for good, as Deep Space Nine or Voyager films wouldn’t have as much appeal. Now following the popular pattern in Hollywood at the moment, they are now going with the prequel idea. It was announced a while back that JJ Abrams, the man behind (the highly underrated), Alias and island weirdness, Lost as well as last years big summer blockbuster Mission Impossible III, was writing it, but had no plans to direct. This has now changed and he is going behind the camera to bring the early days of messr’s Kirk and Spock to the big screen. No word yet on who is going to step into these big shoes, but with Abrams in charge it has potential.
